The Poynings Cat Boarding Hotel is a small, family-run cattery at Grange Farm Cottage, in the heart of the Sussex countryside just outside Brighton. Everything you need to know before your cat checks in.
What vaccinations does my cat need?
All guests must have an up-to-date vaccination against feline enteritis and cat flu. We'd much prefer a photo or scan of your cat's vaccination card emailed to poyningscatboardinghotel@gmail.com in advance — you can also attach it to the enquiry form — as it saves time on the day. If that isn't possible, you're very welcome to bring the card with you at drop-off. Either way, we're unable to board cats without proof of current vaccinations.
What are your drop-off and collection times?
We are open daily for drop off and collection between 9–11am. Alternative arrangements can be organised in advance — just get in touch.
Can you administer medication?
We can administer oral medication only — tablets, liquids, and drops — at no extra charge. Please note that we are unable to give injections of any kind, including insulin. Just provide clear written instructions along with the medication.
What food do you provide?
High quality food is included in every stay at no extra cost. That said, we do encourage you to bring your cat's usual food along — sticking to their normal diet helps avoid an upset tummy and is one less change while they settle in. We'll gladly feed whatever you send, whether it's a special diet or simply a favourite brand, but we're not able to buy in specific foods on request.
What should I bring for my cat?
Just your cat, and ideally their usual food — we provide high quality food, but keeping them on their familiar diet is kinder on their tummy. Please also bring their vaccination card unless you've already emailed it to us — emailing it in advance is preferred, as it saves time at drop-off. You're also welcome to bring a familiar blanket or toy from home to help them settle in.
Can cats from the same home share a run?
Absolutely — cats from the same family can share a run, and we have larger runs that comfortably host three or four cats from the same household.
What if my cat becomes unwell during their stay?
Your cat's wellbeing is our top priority. We monitor all guests closely and have a trusted local vet on call. We'll always contact you (or your emergency contact) before any treatment, except in genuine emergencies.
